Reminder – Morley Field Lane Reservations


Morley Field Range Lane Reservations

Hello Fellow Archers,

The San Diego Archers allow groups and coaches to reserve lanes at the Morley Field Archery Range upon request. Any group may send an email request to the San Diego Archers specifying the dates, times and number of lanes needed. Reservations must be approved by the San Diego Archers. PLEASE NOTE: The $2 day use fee applies to each archer in the group or class using lanes at the Morley Range.

The current lane reservation schedule is below (Updated 01/04/17):

SDA-Wounded Warrior Battalion Archery Clinics: Mondays, 10am-noon.

Lanes 1-16 (Entire left field, 10-40 yards)

        January 9, 16, 23, 30

        February 6 

 

Archery House (Archery classes, preregistration required):

Lanes 30-34 (Right field, far right lanes)

        Saturday, January 7 (9am – 4pm)

        Sundays, January 22 – March 5 (12:30pm – 2:30pm, except February 19)

        (ADA archery lessons, preregistration required):

Lanes 14-16 (Left field, 10 yard lanes)

        Thursdays, January 5, 12, 19, 26 (1pm – 6pm)

 

Adrian Empire: 1st Saturday of the month, 10am-noon.

Lanes 7-8 (Left field, 30 yards), lanes 9-10 (20 yards), occasionally lane 13 (10 yards). Year-Round.

Field Round

Field TargetField Round

The Field Round is a field archery tournament of 28 2D paper targets, firing 4 arrows per target from WHITE colored stakes for a total of 112 arrows. There are 3 scoring zones on each target. Each arrow scores either 3 points from the black outer ring, 4 for the white middle ring or 5 for the black bull’s eye. There is a center ‘X’ ring to the inner 5 point zone.

The Field Round includes:

  • 28 2D Paper Field Targets
  • 4 Arrows per Target
  • Maximum Score: 560

A total of 20 points is possible per target, a perfect round is 560.

Field Rounds are at ‘even’ (5 yd) distances up to 80 yards, with the shortest distances measured in feet.

Targets may have different shooting positions:

1)  All four arrows shot from one marked stake.

2)  “Fan”:  Each arrow is shot from a different marked stake, spread in a fan pattern, each stake at the same distance to the target.

3)  “Walk Up”:  Each arrow shot from a different marked stake at decreasing distances to the target.

(e.g., one arrow each at 45, 40, 35, 30 yards; or two arrows each at 45 and 40 yards.)

 

Modifications:

  • For Youth, under 15, the longest distance is 50 yards.
  • For Cubs, under 12, the longest distance is 30 yards.
