Heads Up – Alpine Cancelled

CANCELLED!

3D Shoot in Alpine this Saturday is cancelled due to mud & rain!

Sorry, Folks! The 3D Shoot in Alpine hosted by the Lemon Grove Rod & Gun Club this weekend is cancelled due to a big ol’ muddy mess and continued rain. They usually set up their course early, but haven’t been able to this week. Stay tuned for next month’s shoot on Saturday, February 11!!

Volunteer Work Party-January 8, 2017

Sorry! Change of Plans:

Volunteer Work Party This Sunday, Jan. 8

Clean up of Rube Powell Archery Range in preparation

for The Flying Pig 3D Shoot (Sun. Feb. 5)

Bale-Making Tutorial work party has been moved to

Sunday, January 22, 8am-noon.

The Flying Pig 3D Shoot is our 2nd largest tournament of the year. It is also our annual fund raiser shoot for a worthy charity or organization. This year, we are excited to announce the recipient of our fundraiser will be the Museum of Man’s Jessop Ancient Weapons & Archery Collection!!

Details about this fun event coming soon!

Main Work Party Focus:

Rake & clear shooting lanes, rotate/restack bales on heavily used targets, cut up any downed trees, stack dead debris for removal, any other odds & ends!

Wear sturdy shoes, bring work gloves and safety goggles, if you have them!

The San Diego Archers truly appreciate your help.

Both archery ranges in Balboa Park are maintained by volunteer efforts alone. If each member (non-members welcome, too!) contributed just one hour of volunteer work on either range, we would have two of the nicest looking ranges in California.

Anyone who volunteers at a work party shoots for free in their next tournament!

Coffee and bagels will be available for volunteers.

3D – 01 Jan 2017

 3D Round – January 1, 2017

Happy New Year, Everyone!!
Congratulations To Mark Omel!
Top score of the shoot:
266 + 8 X’s

NOTE: New for 2017, we attempted to initiate the NFAA Age Division: Silver Senior, but used the incorrect age bracket. We used: Senior=50+, Silver Senior=55+, Master Senior=60+.
The correct age brackets are:
Senior=50+
Silver Senior=60+
Master Senior=70+

The results below are using the incorrect age bracket. We will confirm the age division of each archer in the SS and MS divisions and post the corrected results soon.
My apologies for the mix up!! Fortunately, it was discovered at the first shoot of the year and not halfway through the year!
All scorecards are kept for one year. If anyone would like to see a copy of their scorecard, please send an email to sandiegoarcher@yahoo.com. We will scan it and send you a copy.

28 3D Animal targets, 280 total points and 28 X’s possible.
Turnout: ~64 archers registered, 61 scorecards turned in.
