Novelty
Novelty shoots have various themes, with names like:
- The Iron Turkey 3D Challenge
- The Flying Pig 3D Tournament and Fundraiser
- The King Arthur Tournament
- Sir Gordon Traditional 3D Shoot (history)
Animal
The Animal Round is a 28-target field archery round shooting at paper targets of animal images from YELLOW-colored stakes. The distance is marked, usually at odd yardages between 5 and 60 yards.
The scoring is based on your 1st successful hit out of 3 arrows. There are 3 scoring zones: Bonus Kill Zone, Kill Zone, Hit Zone.
You only need to shoot your 2nd and 3rd arrows if you have not scored with the previous arrow.
Add up each arrow’s score to give a total score out of a maximum 588.
Hunter
Our Hunter Round is one of our most demanding and rewarding events, combining endurance, precision, and a steady hand in a true test of archery skill.
This field archery round consists of 28 2D paper targets, each requiring 4 arrows shot from red-colored stakes. Each target features 3 scoring zones: 3 points for the outer black ring, 4 points for the middle black ring, and 5 points for the center white ring. For added precision, there’s an X-ring within the 5-point zone to break ties and test the sharpest shooters.
Yes, you read that right—28 targets, 4 arrows each, for a total of 112 arrows shot over approximately two hours. To put that into perspective, it’s like hitting the gym and lifting 40 to 50 pounds 112 times, holding each rep for 3 seconds, while walking 4 miles on a treadmill. The Hunter Round isn’t just about accuracy—it’s a full-body workout that challenges your focus, stamina, and strength to the limit!
Yardages are marked in uneven increments, ranging from 33 feet to 70 yards, keeping every shot fresh and unpredictable. This variation adds an extra layer of strategy as you adjust to each target’s unique challenge.

Field
The Field Round is a field archery round of 28 2D paper targets, firing 4 arrows per target from WHITE-colored stakes. There are 3 scoring zones on each target. Each arrow scores either 3 points for the outer black ring, 4 for the
middle white ring, or 5 for the center black ring. There is a center X ring to the inner 5-point zone.
Yardages are marked and are at ‘even’ (5 yards) distances up to 80 yards, with the shortest distances measured in feet.
3D
We utilize a diverse selection of high-quality Rhinehart and Mackenzie targets, arranged in various hunting scenarios. Only one arrow per target is permitted unless mulligans are purchased. Participants may buy up to two mulligans and two doe tags for $1 each, either online or at the visitors’ table. The scoring system follows a 10-8-5-0, where misses, antlers, and horns are awarded “0” points.
About Mulligans and Doe Tags: If you missed or scored low with the first arrow, a mulligan allows you to take another shot at a target. Your score is determined by that second (mulligan) arrow, even if your score turns out worse than the first arrow.
There are a maximum of two buck-doe spreads in the field where the doe is placed between the buck and the archer. If you hit the doe and do not have a doe tag, you score negative five (-5) points on that target. With a doe tag, you score zero (0) points; however, you cannot use a mulligan if you hit the doe, regardless of whether you possess a doe tag or not.
900
This is a 90-arrow (900 points) round, shooting 5 ends of six arrows at each of 60-50-40 yards for Adults, 50-40-30 yards for Youth, and 30-20-10 yards for Cubs.
Each arrow scores 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, or 0 (for a miss) points based on the scoring ring hit on the target.

$10 for SDA members & Active Duty Military, $15 for non-members.
