The SDA is a very active archery club, sponsoring two shoots a month and three major tournaments a year. A 28 target 3D Round on the first Sunday of the month and a Club Championship Qualifying Round (28 target Animal, Field or Hunter Round) on the third Sunday of each month.

Each June SDA hosts the “King Arthur’s Day Tournament”, a 40 target novelty shoot with a medieval theme.

Would you like to attend SDA tournaments for free?
SDA holds a work party at our ranges each month. Contact us to see whether there are work party positions available before the next tournament and attend your next SDA shoot for free!

Outdoor Round Robin Matches – May 9, 2026

Outdoor scoring round at 50/70 meters

Saturday, May 9, 2026 at 2:30 PM

Hosted by the San Diego Archers at the Morley Field Sports Complex Archery Range

For May 9, 2026 (Saturday) only. This tournament is a series of Random Round Robin matches, where competitors will shoot continuous elimination style matches against fellow archers of all different classes.  Matches will be organized in a Round Robin format; upon completing a match both archers will present their scores to the official, and will be assigned another archer to shoot with.  Archers will keep shooting matches until they have shot against all other archers in their division.  Archers may shoot against competitors in other divisions for additional match practice, depending on registration and time available.  Matches will use World Archery/USA Archery rules, however this is not an official USA Archery Event and USA Archery membership is not needed to participate.  All archers must mark their arrows with a sharpie before shooting; sharpies will be available on site.

Basic Match Setup:
Matches will be shot at the following distances:
Olympic Recurve: 122cm face at 70m
Compound/Fixed Pin: 80cm face at 50m
Barebow: 122cm face at 50m
Each match will use the Set System for Scoring; each end the archers will score their targets, the archer with the highest score is awarded 2 points.  If the archer ties, both are awarded 1 point.  The archer with the lower score is awarded no points.  Competitors will shoot until one archer has received 6 points, OR until they have shot 5 ends.  If neither archer has received 6 points after 5 ends, then the match will be resolved by Single Arrow Shoot Off.  Both archers will shoot a single arrow, and the higher score will decide the match.
Winners in each division will be decided by numbers of match wins.  If there is a tie in a division, number of Xs will decide placement.

Divisions will follow the USA Archery equipment classes (Recurve, Barebow, Compound, Fixed Pin). There will be a male and female division for both adults and children.

The rounds will be using World Archery/USA Archery rules, however this is not an official USA Archery event and USA Archery Membership is not needed to participate.  All archers must mark their arrows with their initials before shooting; sharpies will be available on site.
