Unmarked 3D – 31 May 2014

**Unmarked 3D Round**

This SATURDAY

The San Diego Archers

Will host the Unmarked 3D Round

This Saturday, May 31, 2014.

(The SD Rock n Roll Marathon is on Sunday)

        Registration opens at 7:30 am

Registration closes at 8:45am

Shoot begins at 9am

The Unmarked 3D Round includes:

28 3D targets

1 arrow per target

NO RANGE FINDERS ALLOWED!

A wide range of high quality Rhinehart and Mackenzie targets are set at unmarked yardage in various hunting scenarios.  Only one arrow per target is allowed unless mulligans have been purchased.  A maximum of two mulligans and one doe tag may be purchased at registration for an additional $1 each.

 Scoring: 10-8-5

Maximum Score: 280

As an unmarked shoot, you have to estimate the distance to the target yourself without the assistance of a range finder.  This is a difficult and challenging aspect of these shoots, so don’t let your shooting partners know what you think the distance is.

Mulligans and Doe Tags:

If you missed or scored low with the first arrow, a mulligan allows you to take another shot at a target.  If you use a mulligan, your score is determined by that second arrow, even if you score worse than the first arrow.  You may use a second mulligan on the same target.  Your score is determined by the last arrow shot.

There will be 1 or 2 buck-doe spreads in the field, where the doe placed between the buck and the archer.  If you hit the doe and do not have a doe tag, you score -5 on the target. If you have a doe tag, you score zero.  You cannot use a mulligan if you hit the doe, whether or not you have a doe tag.  If you hit the buck or miss completely, you may use a mulligan and your score is determined from that second arrow.

Entry fee $15 per person, $10 for members

Note: As with all 3D shoots – We will shoot come Rain or Shine.

Please arrive at the Balboa Park Archery Range with plenty of time to register.

To ensure we start on time, it will be necessary to close registration at 8:45am.

Shooting starts at 9:00am.

Please send any questions or comments to: SanDiegoArchers@yahoo.com

**The Cabrillo Bridge retrofit project is ongoing.**

**Please use caution when shooting in that area.**

King Arthur 2014 Paint Party

Attention All Ye Archers of San Diego

Please join us for the King Arthur Paint Party:

Saturday, May 17, 8am

Balboa Park Archery Range

The King Arthur Tournament is coming up on Father’s Day, Sunday, June 15.  There is much work to be done to prepare our tournament grounds and targets for the visiting opponents!  Jeweled and painted crowns for the kids must be forged, targets must be guilded (many knights and dragons to be painted), shooting lanes to be racked and tidied up, palm fronds to be trimmed and stacked.  If you have any special talents that might be helpful in our preparations, please let us know.

Even if you just have an hour or so to spare, please come join us Saturday morning.  Most of the work should be done by noon or so.
